Press Features in 2014

Press Features in 2014

Imogen’s Imagination press features in 2014 came thick and fast due to my involvement in The Hat Stand.

This collaborative project between myself and two other local milliners gave us the perfect excuse to send out lots of press releases!

Our two week pop up shop and program of hat related events in May was the start of a very exciting long-term working relationship.

You can see more about our exploits from other years via the In the Press section of my blog.

HATalk Magazine - March

HATalk is a monthly online magazine dedicated to millinery. It is one of only two industry publications and has an international readership. Even getting a tiny mention is a big deal for us milliners!

My hats were included in the coverage of the very first London Hat Week and I was over the moon to be included.

For the full background about the feature and how I came to be involved in the very first London Hat Week event check out my blog

Sheffield Telegraph - May

This was the start of our campaign trail for the very first Hat Stand.

We were the very first dedicated hat shop in Sheffield city centre in a generation – certainly a great hook to get the local press interested!

BBC Radio Sheffield - May

I was nominated to go and chat about The Hat Stand at BBC Radio Sheffield – as you can see, it was another fun visit to the studio.

If you’ve already had a look at my 2012 press features, you may recognise this hat!

Sheffield Star - May

As the Telegraph and the Star are sister publications, they only send one photographer.

That is why we are wearing the same outfits in both articles!

Sadly the accompanying online article has now been archived.

HATalk Magazine - July

We approached HATalk with the story of our collaboration and were thrilled when they agreed to share our story.

A little bravery goes a long way and I’m totally blaming Imogen for that! (You can find out more about her in my About section)

We did ALL the things during our first year; a photo shoot day followed by Hat Walk, a tea party, workshops… and ran the pop up shop.

It was full on, but it put us firmly on the map. It also sparked so many fabulous friendships and future working relationships.

Sheffield Star - September

And there it was. A very public announcement that I was now a full time milliner and had moved into my new studio!

The image used was one from the photo shoot day during The Hat Stand – perfect for using for future press opportunities.

Plus, you can now probably work out how old I am. Why did they need to say that?

Profile Magazine - September

With St Leger looming, the timing of this article was perfect for showing off more of the fabulous photographs I had of my hats. All thanks to The Hat Stand!

I did warn you that you would see lot more of the hat originally shared in Vogue magazine back in 2012.

Sheffield Telegraph - December

December is always peak fair season as everyone is eager to do their Christmas shopping.

The Telegraph sent their reporter to St Mary’s Church (Bramall Lane) to find out what inspired the makers at their Christmas Craft and Vintage fair – needless to mention, I had plenty to say!

Sadly, again the accompanying online article has now been archived.
