With the sad demise of John Lewis and Debenhams in Sheffield, shopping locally for occasion hats is now somewhat tricky.
- I recognise that my design style doesn’t appeal to everyone.
- I appreciate that not everyone has the luxury of the timescales required for a bespoke design
- I understand that the cost of a handmade hat may not be for everyone.
- I know that there is no substitute for trying a hat on in person!

What Are the Extra Bonuses?
Not only can you try these designs on at my studio, you will also have an expert milliner on hand to guide you through the choices available.
Need a tweak? Using my millinery skills, I can temporarily add extra feathers to the designs. This ensures that your headwear will coordinate perfectly with your outfit and offer you a unique design.
Travelling for the event? Naturally, your chosen design will be carefully packed with acid free tissue paper in a hat box. This will keep your hat safe during transport and protect it whilst in storage between outings.

How Do I Buy a Failsworth Design?
Currently these designs are only available to buy direct from the studio.
- Choose your preferred design
- Make an appointment to visit the studio with your outfit
- Try on the designs in stock and explore other colour options available
If I have your chosen design/colourway in stock you will be able to take it away that day.
As required, I will order your chosen design and let you know the expected delivery date – usually within 7 working days of the order being placed.

Ginny Fascinator
Ginny is a classic saucer fascinator adorned with loops and coque feathers. This design can be worn to the left or right of the head.
Made from sinamay with a headband fixing, Ginny is perfect for summer weddings and indoor events during cooler months.

Hannah Fascinator
Featuring a fab split brim and shaped nagoire feathers, Hannah is best suited to being worn to the right of the head.
This is an other sinamay creation with a headband fixing and a great all year round design.

Laure Hatinator
Laure is a delicate floral design with additional loop and feather accents. This hat and fascinator hybrid is known as a hatinator and is worn with a headband.
This is great option if you don’t want a traditional hat, but want the size of a traditional wide brim.

Mia Hatinator
Mia is a larger version of the Hannah shape with petal style decoration to suit the scale of the design.
Although this design has a shallow crown, the split brim offers the illusion of height in the same way as a traditional crown.

Lainey Hat
Lainey is a classic event hat with a tall crown and wide brim. The brim is oval shaped and helps to balance the width of the hat.
This hat also features an adjustable inner band to ensure comfort and a perfect fit.

Who Are Failsworth Hats?
Founded in 1903 Failsworth Hats have a long history in producing headwear for both men and women.
Their ongoing commitment towards innovation in materials, design and production is impressive – the company even made leather helmets for the RAF during WW2!
Today, the company is based just a stone’s throw from the site of their orginal factory in Failsworth, Manchester.
