Navy blue large button hat with silk abaca loops and a hand cut arrow feather.
This larger size cocktail hat is perfect for formal events throughout the year.
I have created this beautifully elegant hat in a timeless colour. The button shaped base of the hat has been hand-blocked with sinamay.
Silk abaca has been used to make a set of loops which adorn the top of the hat. These loops are simple, yet elegant and will work with floral, geometric or abstract prints. The loops also add an element of height and drama to the design.
Finally, a single goose feather has been cut by hand into a narrow arrow shape for extra drama.
The inside of the hat is finished with a matching navy petersham ribbon.
This design is part of my Pick and Mix collection. Significantly, this collection is designed to be as versatile as possible. Each design allows for variations to colour, shape of hat, as well as the option to personalise the decoration with different features. For example, feathers could easily be removed are swapped for a different type.
Dimensions of Hat
- Width: approximately 18cm (7 inches)
- Height: approximately 5 cm (2 inches)
- Circumference: approximately 55cm (21.5 inches)
The loops add approximately 5cm (2 inches) to the height of the design.
The arrow shaped feather is 5cm (2 inches) taller than the loops.
How to Wear this Hat
I have designed this button hat with loops and a feather to be worn to the right side of the head, at a slight angle towards the face.
A black adjustable elastic will be fitted depending on your chosen position. This is used to secure the piece in place. The elastic is thin enough to be hidden in your hair, thereby creating the illusion that the hat is magically perched on the head.
Where to Wear this Hat
I created this navy hat with formal spring and summer events in mind, however it is a great all rounder. It would be perfect for a race day meet or a wedding. The lightweight and breathable sinamay is perfect for both indoor and outdoor events.
Meanwhile, this timeless colour can be paired with a variety of seasonal palettes. The structured loops are a classic and versatile style of decoration and will work with all kinds of printed fabrics.
Gifting Information
Your hat will be sent in an ivory square hat box. This will be carefully packed with acid free tissue paper, and finished with a pink satin ribbon. Storing your hat in this tissue-filled box will keep it in tip top condition for many years to come.
Although I don’t offer gift wrap for these designs, I can add a gift message card if you are gifting from a distance.
