Description
Pink felt mini button hat with felt wave and twirl.
This one of a kind hat has been made using a reclaimed vintage hat from the 1980s. I used the wire edged brim to create this contemporary waved decoration., inspired by the shape of an anthurium flower.
As with all my occasion hats, I make this elegant piece by hand, using traditional millinery techniques. For this particular hat, I have hand-blocked and almost entirely handsewn the piece, save for a small amount of machine stitching to the lining.
I have fully lined the hat with a pink and blue Paisley print silk twill for a dramatic contrast. The inner is also trimmed with a matching pink ribbon.
Dimensions of Hat
- Width: approximately 16.5cm (6.5 inches)
- Height: approximately 4cm (1.5 inches)
- Circumference: approximately 47cm (18.5 inches)
The felt wave adds approximately 5cm (2 inches) extra in height to the hat.
How to Wear this Hat
I have designed this pink asymmetric hat to be worn to the right of the head.
It is secured with a black, adjustable elastic. This elastic is thin enough to be hidden in your hair, thereby creating the illusion that the hat is magically perched on the head.
Where to Wear this Hat
This chic pink button hat would look fabulous at any formal occasion, including race day meets and weddings. It can also be worn throughout the year; from autumn right into spring. Pink is a fab accent colour throughout the seasons.
Gifting Information
I will send your pink felt button hat with a wave and twirl in an ivory hat box. I carefully pack the box with acid-free tissue paper, and finish with a pink satin ribbon. Storing your hat in this tissue-filled box will keep it in tip top condition for many years to come.
Although I don’t offer gift wrap for these designs, I can add a gift message card if you are gifting from a distance.
Complete your message in the box above, especially if it is to be delivered direct to the lucky lady. Please don’t forget to say who it is a gift for…and importantly, who it is from!
