Handmade Millinery
I have designed and handmade all of the hats in this collection, working from my Sheffield studio. These designs were created by using the traditional millinery technique of hand-blocking, after which the ribbon trim was added by hand. Indeed, all of these hats are almost entirely hand sewn, with most only featuring a single line of machine-stitching to the linings.

Ribbon is one of my favourite materials to work with. This is thanks to its versatility, as well as its ability to add impact to any design.

Within this collection you’ll find I’ve utilised a variety of different ribbon trims – from luxurious velvet, to rich felt, to classic petersham ribbon. I’ve also worked with the ribbon in a wide variety of ways; forming anything from statement bows and classic rosettes, to large, architectural loops and intricate nautilus shells.
