Description
Lilac sinamay half hat with hand made lily flowers and hand curled biot feathers
I have left the hat unlined, making it perfect for keeping you cool on a warm Spring or Summer day. However, it is finished inside with a coordinating petersham ribbon.
As with all my occasion hats, I make this elegant piece by hand, using traditional millinery techniques. This particular hat has not only been hand-blocked, but also entirely handsewn.
Dimensions of Hat
- Width (at it’s widest): approximately 12cm (4.75 inches)
- Length: approximately 24cm (9.5 inches)
- Circumference: approximately 49.5cm (19.5 inches)
The flower decoration at the side of the headpiece adds a further 5cm (2 inches) to the total height of the design.
How to Wear this Hat
This hat is designed to be worn to the left of the head and attaches with a dark brown elastic. This elastic is thin enough to be hidden in your hair, thereby creating the illusion that the hat is magically perched on the head.
Where to Wear this Hat
When I created this lilac hat, with its delicate flowers and feathers, I had formal Spring and Summer events in mind. For example, this hat would be perfect for a race day, a wedding, or even a Summer cocktail party. The lightweight and breathable sinamay will keep you cool in the heat. Meanwhile, the lilac hue and soft embellishments are just right for this time of year.
Gifting Information
I will send your lilac hat in an ivory hat box. I carefully pack this box with acid free tissue paper, before finishing with a pink satin ribbon. Storing your hat in this tissue-filled box will keep it in tip top condition for many years to come.
Although I don’t offer gift wrap for these designs, I can add a gift message card if you are gifting from a distance.
Please do complete your message in the box above, especially if you’d like it to be delivered direct to the lucky lass. Don’t forget to say who it is a gift for…and importantly, who it is from!
Looking For Something a Little Different?
I created this lilac hat, with its decoration of flowers and feathers, as a one-of-a-kind piece. However, I can use the design as inspiration for a bespoke order – creating something unique, tailored to your specifications. If you would like to discuss this option, please do drop me a message, and I will get back to you.
