Description
Blue woven paper boater hat with two-tone blue petersham ribbon trim.
As with all my occasion hats, I have made this piece by hand, using traditional millinery techniques. This particular hat is hand-blocked and handsewn, apart from a small amount of machine stitching which was required on the brim.
I have trimmed the open lattice weave paper straw of this hat, with a vegan-friendly rayon and viscose mix petersham ribbon.
Meanwhile, I have chosen to leave the hat unlined. Instead, simply trimming the inside with a coordinating petersham ribbon.

How to Wear this Hat
I have designed this blue boater hat so that it can be worn to the left or right of the head. I suggest wearing this piece at a rakish slant, to create a really stunning look.
The hat is secured in place by a black, adjustable elastic. This elastic is thin enough to be hidden in your hair, thereby creating the illusion that the hat is magically perched on the head.
Where to Wear this Hat
I designed this blue boater hat with formal Spring and Summer events in mind. The hat’s small oval crown, teamed with its wide brim would make an elegant statement at any race day or wedding.
This lightweight piece also offers a high degree of comfort. The brim provides shade (and style), Meanwhile, the open weave of the paper straw offers breathability. All round, this is a perfect hat for a hot Summer’s day!
