Pale pink paper straw boater hat, with a pink cork leather bow. Perfect for a day at the races, or a spring or summer wedding.
As with all my occasion hats, I have made this piece by hand, using traditional millinery techniques. For this particular hat, I have hand-blocked and entirely handsewn the piece.
I have trimmed the beautiful, open lattice weave paper straw of this hat, with a vegan-friendly cork leather bow. This pale pink vegan leather features gold accents and a pearlised finish for extra shimmer. The flying bow also offers a subtle amount of additional height and movement to the design, and brings a contemporary edge to this classic hat shape.
I have chosen not to line this particular hat. Instead, I have simply trimmed the inside with a coordinating petersham ribbon.
- Hat Brim:
- Width (from edge to edge): approximately 30.5cm (12 inches)
- Width (from edge of crown to edge of brim): approximately 8cm (3.25 inches)
- Circumference: approximately 94cm (37 inches)
- Crown of Hat:
- Width (at widest point): approximately 12cm (4.75 inches)
- Length: approximately 13cm (5 inches)
- Height: approximately 4cm (1.5 inches)
- Circumference: approximately 42cm (16.5 inches)
How to Wear this Hat
I have designed this hat so that it can be worn to the right or left of the head. The hat is fitted with an adjustable black elastic, which secures the piece in place. This elastic is thin enough to be hidden in your hair, thereby creating the illusion that the hat is magically perched on the head.
Where to Wear this Hat
I designed this piece with formal spring and summer events in mind. The hat’s small oval crown, wide brim, and swooping bow, would make an elegant statement at any race day or wedding.
This lightweight piece also offers a high degree of comfort for those warmer days. The brim provides shade, while the open lattice of the paper straw, along with the absence of a lining, allows for breathability.
Add to that the delicate pink shade, and this is an all-round perfect choice for your big spring or summer occasion.
I will send your piece in an ivory hat box, which I carefully pack with acid free tissue paper, and finish with a pink satin ribbon. Storing your hat in this tissue-filled box will keep it in tip top condition for many years to come.
Although I don’t offer gift wrap for these designs, I can add a gift message card if you are gifting from a distance.
Please do complete your message in the box above, especially if you’d like it to be delivered direct to the lucky lass. Don’t forget to say who it is a gift for…and importantly, who it is from!

Looking For Something a Little Different?
I created this pink boater hat with cork leather bow, as a one-of-a-kind piece. However, I can use the design as inspiration for a bespoke order – creating something unique, tailored to your specifications. For example, I could create this hat with a different colour or type of fabric, to suit your outfit. If you would like to discuss a bespoke order, please do drop me a message, and I will get back to you.
