Handmade Millinery
I have designed and handmade all of the hats in this collection, working from my Sheffield studio. These designs were created by using the traditional millinery technique of hand-blocking, after which the beadwork was added by hand. Indeed, all of these hats with beads are almost entirely hand sewn, with only a single line of machine-stitching to the linings.

Beads offer a subtle, yet luxurious, way to add an element of interest to the designs in this collection. For some pieces, they provide an accent colour, to an otherwise monochrome palette, whereas for others they offer a centre of focus for the whole design
